*Ateneo Fine Arts Festival: April 3 to 13, 2019!*





The Department of Fine Arts continues its tradition of showcasing the works
of the graduating seniors from its four programs (Art Management, Creative
Writing, Information Design, and Theater Arts) in the annual Ateneo Fine
Arts Festival happening from April 3 to April 13. For the second year in a
row, the festival will be held at Areté, the creativity and innovation hub
of the Ateneo de Manila University.



*Kicking off the festival on April 3 will be the Art Management Seniors
Thesis and Presentation at the Ben Chan ArtSuite at 2 PM and the literary
reading, Speaking Mirrors, of the Creative Writing seniors at the Ignacio
B. Gimenez Amphitheater at 5 PM.* The chapbooks, which explore a multitude
of themes through the prism of conventional, hybrid, and experimental
genres, will be made available during the reading and the entire duration
of the festival. Interested parties may pre-order the titles through
bit.ly/CWPreorders19 until March 27, Wednesday.



*Creative Writing and Theater Arts students under the playwriting track
will have a stage reading of their dramas dubbed, **Hugpungan,** at the
Doreen Black Box Theater on April 5* while those under the directing track
will have a tentative showcase of their works slated on April 13.* On April
10, Information Design students will present their respective theses in
the exhibition, **Radial,** at the George SK Ty Learning Innovation Wing.*
Last year, the students proposed a variety of design thinking, solution,
and intervention on a wide variety of topics that included literacy,
environment, and HIV prevention. *The Information Design exhibition will
run until April 29.*



Other auxiliary events include the exhibition, *In the Spaces We Mend:
Inheriting the Unfinished Narrative of the Filipino Comfort Women,* on view
at the Rizal Library Special Collection Building until April 13; the
workshop-based thesis, *Ekphrasis: Poetry Inspired Art,* at the Ateneo Art
Gallery which will be marked by a folio launch on March 29; as well as
forthcoming performances and theatrical productions.
