Through the Dept. of Biology and Dept. of Environmental Science, the Ateneo
de Manila University is part of a network of UK, EU and Asian universities
under an Erasmus+ project called CABARET (Capacity Building in Asia for
Resilient Education). CABARET aims to build capacity for international and
regional cooperation between Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) in Asia and
Europe, and among Asian HEIs themselves, to improve Multi Hazard Early
Warning (MHEW) and increase disaster resilience among coastal communities.

On March 30, the Erasmus+ CABARET project and the AIS Climate Change and
Disaster Risk program will be co-hosting an event entitled "Mentoring for
Resilience".

This one-day event is an opportunity to interface with international and
interdisciplinary experts on Disaster Risk and Resilience (DRR). In the
morning, we will be hearing the keynote speech of Mr. Glenn Banaguas,
Outstanding Young Scientist of the Philippines for Environmental Management
and US-ASEAN Fellowship for Science and Technology Awardee, titled "Climate
Smart Philippines: HEIs and Policy Actors". This will be followed by
student presentations in the morning until after lunch. Informal
mentoring sessions
with CABARET experts are also scheduled in the afternoon. Please see
program below or through this link for more details:

Kindly RSVP by March 20, 2019 through Jean Jardeleza (jjardeleza at ateneo.edu)
or call 426-6001 local 4851.
