*RE* *:* *MERGING VOICES 2018-2020 PROJECT: CALL
The Office of International Relations (OIR) is pleased to announce the
availability of mobility grants for Ateneo de Manila University faculty,
and administrative staff under the framework of the European Programme
Erasmus+ Key Action 1 International Credit Mobility.
The Merging Voices (MV) is composed by four Portuguese Institutions:
Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL), Universidade do Porto (UP), Universidade
de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD) and Universidade do Algarve (UAlg).
The 3rd edition of the Merging Voices project (2018-2020) aims to continue
the guidelines of the previous editions, cementing the cooperation with the
Partner Institutions and building new cooperation with the newcomers, which
will be achieved through mobility.
The following are the available mobility grants for Merging Voices together
with details on the schedule/duration of program and financial grants

*A. Faculty Mobility - Teaching Staff*
One (1) financial grant (travel and subsistence) is available for 1 faculty
member. The successful applicants will undertake a teaching assignment at a
chosen Merging Voices Partner university in Portugal by 31 July 2019 for a
maximum of 7 days (travel days included).
Teaching assignments can come in various forms and take place as seminars,
lectures and tutorials, for example. A minimum of 8 hours of teaching per
week is expected from the participating faculty.
The teaching staff can come from any academic field available both in the
university in Portugal and ADMU. The teaching program will be designed and
decided by the selected ADMU faculty member and the departmental
coordinator at the chosen Merging Voices institution in Portugal. For more

*C. Administrative Staff Mobility*
One (1) financial grant (travel and subsistence) is available for
administrative staff. Staff mobility for training supports the professional
development of administrative staff in the form of a work placement or a
job shadowing/observation at a partner university in Portugal by 31 July
2019 for a maximum of 7 days (travel days included).
The administrative staff can come from any area of the expertise, but
preference will be given to staff dealing with international mobility to be
able to develop better mobility projects between Merging Voices and ADMU in

The Merging Voices Selection Committee will meet and do the
final selection of the scholarships following the criteria of academic
merit taking into account also cross-cutting requirements such as a
balanced scholarship distribution among the partner universities,
gender-balance and real participation of disadvantaged people.

3. Visa application may take up to 2 months to process. Successful
applicants are advised to apply for a visa online as early as possible: The
OIR will provide supporting documents needed in the visa application
*4. **The Merging Voices will transfer the amount corresponding to the
travel distance to the scholarship holders’ bank account and he/she is
responsible to buy his/her own flight ticket, always respecting the dates
of exchange established. The grant should also be able to cover the initial

1. Travel dates (Faculty and Staff Training):
1. Travel should be completed *before 31 July 2019.*Travel should,
therefore, be undertaken on the months of May, June, July when
ongoing, not during public and school holidays in Portugal.
2. Faculty/staff must first agree on travel dates with their
individual faculty supervisors/ sponsoring offices.
3. It is advised that faculty/staff go individually at different
times. The intention is to regularly send Ateneo representatives
to ensure continued cooperation and exchange.
6. Faculty/staff will have to do their own, independent research as to
what specific activities they want to teach or learn in relation to their
fields of study in Portugal. Faculty/staff will also have to find a faculty
supervisor / sponsoring office at a university in Portugal. (Please include
specific details relating to our fields of study)
7. Grantee will agree on the travel/mobility dates and sign a Mobility
Agreement with their faculty supervisor/counterpart (Faculty to Faculty/
Staff to Staff).
