Subject : 8-Digit PLDT Number Migration

In compliance with the National Telecommunications Commission M.O
no.10-10-2017, all telecommunications service providers are mandated to
transition all Greater Metro Manila (02) based landline numbers from seven
digits to eight digits effective March 18,2019 to address the need for more
landline numbers. After this, the present seven-digit number will no longer
be reachable.

The PLDT will do this by appending the number ‘8’ (Public
Telecommunications Entity Identifier) to existing PLDT telephone number/s
through systems migration on March 18, 2019 with expected downtime
happening between 12:00 AM to 5:00AM. Affected services are Direct lines,
DID/DOD, Trunklines, PLP, Call ALL, ISDN, SIP trunks, Global SIP and 02
FEX. After the 8-digit migration on March 18, 2019 from 5:01 AM onwards, a
generic IVR announcement “Please dial 8 + the 7 digit telephone number”
will be played for 3 months in case the caller still dials the old 7-digit

Other telco providers will be implementing their 8-digit number migration
within the same window period using a different identifier as assigned by
the NTC. Please check with your facilities and telephone system if you have
telco provider/s other than PLDT.

For everyone’s better appreciation and necessary arrangements, we enjoin
all to inform your business partners, clients and building stakeholders
about this number migration activity accordingly.

Please let us know if you have any further inquiries and concerns.

Attached hereto is the PLDT 8-Digit Number Migration brief and FAQ for your
information and reference.

Thank you.
