Courses: Korean 1: Introductory Korean Certificate Course
               Korean 2: Upper Beginner Korean Certificate Course

Korean 1 is a 30-hour stand-alone course that aims to introduce the
students to the alphabet, phonetics, and sentence patterns of the language.
It is also designed to hone the basic competencies of the students in
speaking, listening, writing, and reading using a blend of teaching
approaches and learning activities.

Korean 2 is a 30-hour course that continues Korean 1. It aims to enhance
basic competency in the language through acquiring new vocabulary and
applying them to more complex structures. This course will also introduce
new speech patterns, styles, and expressions that will cover a variety of

B​​y the end of the course, the students will:

- be able to read and write with the Korean alphabet and become familiar
with its phonetics, sentence patterns, and grammar
- learn vowels, consonants, rudimentary rules of pronunciation, Sino-Korean
and pure Korean numerals
-engage in dialogue using the various sentence patterns
- acquire basic competency in 4 aspects of communication in Korean -
speaking, listening, writing, and reading

By the end of the course, the students will:
-speak with new speech styles and use expressions that make use of the
following sentence structures:

   - imperative/command sentences in formal form
   - basic prepositions
   - pre-positive/suggestive exchanges
   - object, time and action-location particles
   - rules of pronunciation for special syllabic pairs

-read with improved comprehension
-write with more creativity and personality through an expanded vocabulary
-formulate questions and answers with proper conjugations
-speak with enhanced confidence


Korean 1: Introductory Korean Certificate Course,  28 April - 7 July (10
Saturdays), 9 am - 12 nn
Korean 2: Upper Beginner Korean Certificate Course, 28 April - 7 July (10
Saturdays), 1 pm - 4 pm

Location: Ateneo de Manila University Campus

Course fee: Php 5,000 for tuition and miscellaneous fees
