Northern Samar for a research project on primary health care.

The research collaboration entitled “Stories of public health through Local
Art-based Community Engagement” or *SOLACE* aims to transcend disciplinary
and academic boundaries working towards the UN Sustainable Development
Goals (SDG). SOLACE is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council

Cultural Animation <http://www.solace-research.com/cultural-animation> is a
participatory art-based and embodied methodology of community engagement
and knowledge co-production that draws on the everyday experiences of
ordinary people and their creative abilities to achieve individual and
collective goals.

Cultural Animation was developed and pioneered in the UK by Sue Moffat (New
Vic Borderlines) and Prof Mihaela Kelemen (CASIC, Keele University). The
methodology has been extensively used to co-produce knowledge used in the
UK, Japan, France, Greece and Canada, on diverse topics, including: food
poverty, communities in crisis, disability, volunteering, community
leadership and social innovation.
The SOLACE partnership works around equal distribution of health workers
and efficient primary care for people with non-communicable diseases. One
of the SOLACE activities is to introduce the Cultural Animation methodology
to researchers at Ateneo de Manila University. In this workshop you will be
introduced to a range of CulturalAnimation activities using the 'health in
the community' topic.

*There are only thirty (30) slots for the workshop. Snacks will be served. *

*Sign up for the Cultural Animation Workshop through this link:*

The SOLACE project launch will happen right after the workshop. If you wish
