[Blueboard] Call for Application of Institute for Advanced Study in Asian Cultures and Theologies (IASACT) 2018

Thank you for supporting the Institute for Advanced Study in Asian Cultures
and Theologies (IASACT) over the past decade. This is a call for the
application of*IASACT* *201**8* to be held from *June 14 to** Ju**ly 14,*
Sponsored by the United Board, *IASACT 201**8* will be wholly organized by
the Divinity School of Chung Chi College in The Chinese University of Hong
Kong (DSCCC) for the fourth year. DSCCC is the only theological education
institution within a Chinese public university and aims at enhancing
collaboration with other seminaries in other parts of the world. It is a
scholar hub for theology, cultural and religious studies in Hong Kong,
Mainland China and overseas academic communities.
*IASACT *is a four-week residential program that provides space and time
for scholars to deepen their understanding of theologies and traditions.
Participants undertake research and writing in the broad area of Asian
cultures and theologies and complete a working paper while in
will be arranged to indulge participants with the local cultures.
In providing this opportunity, *IASACT* aims to:
· Strengthen theological education in worldwide Christian universities
· Encourage cross-disciplinary as well as inter-religious discussions;
· Enable scholars from different countries or of different nationalities
to work together toward an intra-Asian theological understanding.
14-16 scholars from Asian institutions will be selected. Non-Asian scholars
are also welcome but required to pay USD1000 for registration fee.
Accommodation will be provided while meal allowances and a stipend of
also be offered to cover the basic costs related to research and writing as
well as meals in weekends. Airfare subsidy will be offered in a 50%
scholarship basis. Scholars are encouraged to cover the costs of their air
tickets and related travel expenses. A limited number of transportation
subsidies are available upon request.
