*I. Brief Description*

ASOG is the public sector arm of the Ateneo de Manila University whose
long-term mission is to teach and work with effective and ethical public
servants to build prosperous, sustainable, just, and happy communities in
the Philippines empowered by democratic, participatory, transparent, and
accountable governance institutions and processes.

As a graduate school for leadership and public service, ASOG's academic and
executive education programs bridge the gap between the classroom wisdom
and real-world policy decision-making and governance.  Through its research
and extension programs, and working with public, private and community
organizations, it develop and foster innovative ideas and approaches that
change the mindsets and systems in such areas as leadership, poverty
eradication, climate change and environment, social accountability, and

*II. Scope of Work*

Under the direct supervision of Academic Head, The *ACADEMIC RESEARCH
ASSOCIATE* is expected to contribute to the ( partial ) implementation of
two projects within academic program namely (1) on energy access,
sustainability and regulation and (2) on the Sustainable Development Goals
in local government units.


•          Provide assistance to the Academic Head in the development of
five ( 5 ) course syllabi, specifically by conducting reviews and analyses
of related literature, data gathering which may include comparison of
existing course syllabi, interviews of people engage in the energy sector,
and review of other materials that may be related to the research topic;

•          Explore other such activities to be offered to students that may
enhance the learning experience;

•          Explore possible resource persons/ experts in the energy sector;

•          Provide administrative/ logistical support for academic events
related to the project; and

•          Perform such other functions as may be assigned by the Dean/
Academic Head and his/ her  authorized representative similar to, and
related to the functions enumerated above.


Applicants for the *ACADEMIC RESEARCH ASSOCIATE* position must have the
following qualifications:

·         Master Degree/ units in any social  science,with above  average
academic performance;

·         Strong analytical skills and appreciation of  development and
political economy;

·         Graphic presentation skills is an advantage;

·         Self management, as evidence by the ability to deliver outputs
with minimum supervision;

·         Impeccable English communication skills, oral and written;

·         Excellent  organizational skills and ability to work in a team.
