The Asian Center for Journalism <http://acfj.ateneo.edu/> cordially invites
everyone to a forum titled "Covering Marawi: Stories from a war zone" to be
held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Escaler Hall

Marawi beyond the body count

Three months ago, fighting erupted in Marawi City between government forces
and a band of armed men known as Maute-ISIS. The fighting prompted a
declaration of martial law in Mindanao, hundreds of deaths, massive
displacement, and a city in ruins.

Beyond the fighting and the body count, what is really happening in Marawi?
And why should the rest of the country be concerned?

To help answer those questions, the Asian Center for Journalism is holding
a forum titled “Covering Marawi: Stories from a war zone,” on Tuesday,
Sept. 12, from 4-6 p.m. at the Escaler Hall of the Ateneo de Manila
University.

Journalists Chiara Zambrano of ABS-CBN and Jamela Alindogan of Al Jazeera
will speak about stories they covered as well as stories that didn't make
it to the news.

OPEN to ALL! For seat reservations, please call ACFJ at 926-3253 or
426-6001 local 5294 (ACFJ) or 5211 (Communication Department).
