The MANILA OBSERVATORY is a Jesuit scientific research institution  
with research work in the fields of atmospheric and earth science in  
the Philippines and the Southeast Asian region.  It advocates a  
science-based approach to sustainable development and poverty  
reduction through its principal focus on the areas of climate change  
and disaster science.

The MANILA OBSERVATORY invites applicants for the following position:



Maintain, monitor and order office supplies and equipment for MO, its  
programs and projects
Maintain database of contracts with vendors and service providers
Ensure that guarantees and provisions of vendors? contracts are  
utilized and maximized
Ensure that services delivered by service providers are according to  
performance standards stated in the contract
Supervise facilities maintenance, anticipate requirements and resolve  
issues as they arise
Oversee inventory and purchasing of supplies
Arrange for payment of suppliers and providers after ensuring delivery  
of items purchased and/or adequate delivery of services
Work with Finance and Accounting to ensure up-to-date insurance coverage
Track all maintenance agreements and arrange for service when needed  
on all office equipment other than computers
Manage office machines (i.e. copiers, fax), including maintenance and training
Liaise with ADMU and other building occupants to maintain security,  
cleanliness, safety, and efficiency of building and building systems
Conduct fire safety and earthquake readiness drills for MO staff and  
building occupants as needed
Supervise building security and maintenance
Monitor status of building occupants including use, payments for  
utilities and other shared services
Other duties as assigned


Bachelor?s degree required
3 years of experience in an administrative and operational role
Ability to pay impeccable attention to detail is a must
Must possess good interpersonal skills, leadership qualities and  
effective communication skills
Ability to work well with employees and program staff at all levels
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with close  
attention to detail
Good computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
