*University Research Council*

The University Research Council aims to support interdisciplinary
“game changing” scholarly work of the Ateneo faculty and professionals

and increase the scholarly work/creative output of the University, the URC
is pleased to announce funding for research projects focused on the
following themes:

   -  *Risk Assessment and Reduction*

(e.g.  disaster science and policy, governance, social vulnerability)

   -  *Public Education Reform*

(e.g. curriculum innovation, teacher education, education
leadership,learning, system reform, technological innovation)

   - *Health Systems Development*

(e.g.  health leadership, finance, technological innovation, service
delivery, health communication)

   - *Sustainability*

(e.g.  sustainable livelihood, systems innovation, livable
communities, clean energy, sustainable  transport, materials)

   - *Creativity, Innovation and Culture*

(e.g.  identity, nationhood, social innovation)

The research projects with one- to two-year timeframes may be theoretical
or applied, single discipline or interdisciplinary, and with a clear social
relevance in either of the University’s priority areas mentioned above. The
grants will be awarded on a competitive basis. The primary criteria for
project award are: (a) relevance to the priority themes, (b)
interdisciplinarity, (c) strength of the project concept, design and
methodology, (d) expected output including publication potential, and (e)
desired social impact.

Three items need to be submitted: (1) a detailed proposal as outlined in
the guidelines, (2) a completed application form with a 100-word abstract
and noted by the chair and the dean, and (3) a short curriculum vitae of
the lead proponent [one to two-pages only].

The deadline for submission of the required materials is* March 15, 2017*.
Hard copies must be submitted to the Office of the Associate Dean for
Research and Creative Work at Faber Hall 307 *AND* the electronic version
should be sent by e-mail to **tfernando at ateneo.edu <tfernando at ateneo.edu>*.
Awards will be announced  by May 2017, and projects may start in August
