Studies Junior Conference and Career Talk scheduled to take place on March
28, 2017(Tuesday) at Faber Hall, Ateneo de Manila University. Supported by
the Academy of Korean Studies, the conferencehopes to respond to the
increasing research initiatives pursued by students on topics related to
Korea and seeks to serve as a platform for critically examining the
relevance of Korean Studies to Filipino scholars. Specifically, it aims to
(a) provide a venue for undergraduate and graduate students currently

research on Korea; (b) engage with and learn from invited experts; and (c)
dialogue with industry representatives about employment prospects for
scholars with Korean Studies background.

The conference is interdisciplinary in nature and is therefore designed to
gather individual papers from diverse fields and on any topic/theme on Korea.
Through the paper presentations and discussions, the conference is expected
to facilitate dialogue on pressing issues surrounding contemporary Korea and
its implications on the Philippines as well as contribute to the building
of a network of future Korean Studies scholars in the country.

As a pioneering initiative, the conference program will incorporate a
career talk by representatives from relevant industries, including Korean and
multinational companies.

Upon the decision of the invited experts, two of the paper submissions will
