     Re: Extension of deadline to join the 2017 BPI Sinag U undergraduate
students' social entrepreneurship competition
x--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------x

     In view of the recent disruption of classes due to inclement weather,
please be advised of the *extension of the **deadline for interested LS
student-teams to submit their Entry Forms to tomorrow, **Thursday, 24
August 2017, in lieu of today, 23 August 2017.*

The following contest guidelines are re-issued:

The University partners anew with BPI Foundation in fostering a more
inclusive growth through the empowerment of entrepreneurs with social missions,
through several social business challenges which seek out young
entrepreneurs, aged 18-35, with fresh and innovative business ideas or
young start-ups (less than 3 years old) that have the potential to solve
pressing societal and environmental problems.

Among these endeavors, *BPI Sinag U is a social entrepreneurship
competition specifically catering to undergraduate
student social entrepreneurs **nationwide*. (See http://sinag.bpifoundatio
n.org/home/university)

Three official contestant-teams from the Loyola Schools to the regional
(and hopefully national) level(s) of the BPI Sinag U competition will be
chosen through a simple, internal (“intra-Ateneo de Manila”) procedure,
with the following mechanics:

1. Interested teams of *undergraduate* students from the Loyola Schools
must submit properly filled-out Entry Forms to Ms. Edda Dayandante of the
OVPSD by email (at eddayandante at ateneo.com <eddadivahd at yahoo.com>) *on or
before* *Thurssday, 24 **August 2017*. The entry forms may be downloaded
from https://goo.gl/trCQn9.

2. Each student team must meet the following eligibility requirements:

a.  Each team must have only two (2) members;

b.  The team members:

b.1. must each be currently enrolled as seniors (that is, in their last
year in college) in any academic degree program in the Loyola Schools;
multidisciplinary teams are allowed;

b.2. must each have a currently-compliant quality point index (QPI) average
as of the end of their last-completed semester;

b.3. must each not have been, or currently be, subject to disciplinary
action, administrative charges and/or suspension for unbecoming conduct.

3. A duly-constituted panel of judges will select the three (3) most
impressive social enterprise write-ups from among those contained in the
submitted Entry Forms. At the panel of judges’ sole discretion, it may ask
certain teams to expound on their entries.

The panel of judges will be composed of the Deans of the John Gokongwei
School of Management, School of Social Sciences and Graduate School of
Business, or their designees.

4. The final winners of the intra-University competition will be announced
on *5 September 2017* and officially endorsed as the representatives of the
University to the BPI Sinag U regional (NCR) bootcamp.

Information regarding the BPI Sinag U regional and national competition may
be found at http://sinag.bpifoundation.org
