Position Description

*Part-time Finance Clerk*

*Summary Description:*

*The JCAP Part-time Finance Clerk is a member of the core support team of
the Jesuit Conference of Asia Pacific and has responsibilities for
financial management, care of office environment, and maintaining a network
of relationships that enable JCAP to serve the mission of the Society of
Jesus in Asia Pacific.*

*Appointment and accountability*:

The JCAP Part-time Finance Clerk is appointed by the President of JCAP and
works with and supports the JCAP team, collaborating most particularly with
the Accountant and Treasurer.

*Conditions of appointment:*

The JCAP Part-time Finance Clerk is to report twice a week and is appointed
under applicable conditions of Philippine law.  Following satisfactory
completion of a six month trial period, confirmation of consultancy
assignment will be given. Further conditions are available at the JCAP


Good skills in human relations and communications; good in MS Excel and
Word ; English proficient; a college graduate, with one year experience
related to finance work, honest and hardworking and willing to learn
computer software.


Duties specific to the Part-time Finance Clerk:

   - Handles accounts receivable and statements of accounts.
   - Handles accounts payable and check vouchers preparation.
   - Encodes deposits and disbursements using computer software.
   - Prepares government remittances and returns.
   - Maintains BIR books of accounts.
   - Handles banking and payment of certain accounts.
   - Prepares accounting schedules as assigned.
   - Filing of documents.

The following duties will be negotiated with and *shared among the JCAP

   - Welcomes visitors, receives phone calls and messages and schedules
   - Provides administrative and clerical support to the JCAP team.
   - Maintains good housekeeping of the office including the control and
   maintenance of office supplies, equipment and food supplies.
