*ArtSpeak: Rocky Cajigan and Nathalie Dagmangin conversation with Angel
Velasco ShawMonday, 24 October, 4pm*

Winners of the 2016 Ateneo Art Awards Fernando Zobel Prizes for Visual Art,
Rocky Cajigan and Nathalie Dagmang will talk about their winning
exhibitions, their practice and influences with Angel Velasco Shaw, Media
Artist and Director of Institute of Heritage, Culture and the Arts at
Philippine Women's University.

Rocky Cajigan was awarded the prize for his exhibition *Museumified *held
at Blanc Gallery from 10-31 October 2015, while Nathalie Dagmang won for
her thesis show, *Dito sa may Ilog ng Tumana: A Sensory Investigation on
the Contradictory Relationship of Barangay Tumana with the Marikina
River, *held
at the UP College of Fine Arts from 27 May - 5 June 2015.

Through *Museumified*, Cajigan questions how his heritage as an indigenous
person from Bontoc, Mountain Province is represented in museums. His works
are meticulously crafted and purposely composed to construct personal and
communal stories of disappearing and evolving practices. Using an
ethnographic approach to her practice, Dagmang actively observes how people
change and are changed by their environment in her video work. The river—a
source of life for the people of Tumana—can also be a source of upheaval.
