*LIBRARY CLERK I (OS I)*

Rizal Library, Loyola Schools



*Summary:*

Under the direction of the section supervisor, the Library Clerk I performs
routine library-related duties such as locating, searching, collecting,
sorting, and shelving of library materials.



*Job Description:*

1.     Collection Maintenance

·         Shelves and ensures that library materials are arranged according
to the classification system

·         Shelf-reads library materials to ensure correct location and to
check damaged items for endorsement to appropriate persons in-charge for
processing

·         Moves, installs and dismantles shelving of collection

·         Assists in inventory projects by shelving accounted books



2.     Logistical Support to the Section

·         Maintains upkeep of the section/area by inspecting, removing and
clearing carrels and tables

·         Transports and distributes library materials, equipment, and
documents.

·         Encodes various routine documents such as letters, reports,
labels and forms



3.     Patron Support

·         Assists library patrons in locating materials in assigned area

·         Provides library patrons with basic information service
concerning library materials, facilities and library rules and procedures
and refers to appropriate person as necessary



4.     Performs other task that may be assigned




*Qualifications:*

·         College graduate

·         Experience working in the library an advantage

·         Has basic communication skills

·         Must be able to perform basic computer related work

·         Can work well with a team

*​LIBRARY CLERK II (OS II)*

Rizal Library, Loyola Schools

*Summary:*

Under the direction of the section supervisor, the Library Clerk II
performs clerical support to the researchers/library users by answering
simple and routine inquiries, and referring to librarian for professional
assistance.



*Job Description:*

1.     Logistical Support to the Section

·         Assists in generating statistical reports related to user’s
statistics, books shelved, and books borrowed in a close or open shelf
system.

·         Ensures compliance of patrons with library regulations

·         Receives, checks, sorts and verifies newly acquired library
materials

·         Provides logistical assistance in the preparation of exhibits and
events

·         Discharges library materials, as needed



2.     Patron’s Assistance

·         Assists library patrons in searching library materials

·         Provides library patrons with information service concerning
library materials, facilities and library rules and procedures

·         Assists library patrons in using microfilm/microfiche readers as
needed



3.     Collection Upkeep

·         Shelves and ensures that library materials are arranged according
to the classification system

·         Participates in the inventory of Library materials including
equipment in the area of responsibility

·         Encodes indexes, lists, brochures and other records

·         Ensures that all library materials are in good condition and
forwards damaged items for repair or routine mending



3.     Collection binding and minor repairs

·         Receives and records binding requests

·         Performs in-house binding and minor repairs

·         Verifies quality of bound materials



4.     Performs other task that may be assigned



*Qualifications:*

·         College graduate

·         Has 2 years of relevant work experience

·         Working knowledge in the basic principles and practices of
library work

·         Must be able to communicate effectively with others in writing
and verbally

·         Must be able to perform computer related work and use library
related software

·         Has working knowledge in the use of library equipments such as
computer terminal, sensitizer, desensitizer, barcode scanner, and microfilm
reader

·         Can work well with a team
