Please be advised that the main screening of *Racing Extinction* tomorrow
will start with a short program at 4:30 pm. At the end of the film, there
will be a brief Q&A with representatives from Discover Channel.
Here again is the announcement on the *Racing Extinction* Tour:
The Department of Biology and the Ateneo Biological Organization - *eXplore.
eXperience. eXcel.*(BOx), with the support of the Ateneo Institute of
Sustainability (AIS) and the Office of Student Activities (OSA), would like
to invite the Ateneo community to University-exclusive premiere screenings
of the documentary film *Racing Extinction* by Louise Psihoyos, who won an
Academy Award (Oscar) in 2010 for the powerful film *The Cove*. *Racing
Extinction *tackles the role of human activity in the loss of global
biodiversity and the onset of a mass extinction event.
The three screenings have the following schedules:
*27 November 2015, Escaler Hall*
*4:30-7:00 pm (Main Screening with Q&A)*
We have partnered with Discovery Channel on a week-long advocacy campaign
on wildlife extinction that will run from 24 to 27 November 2015 at the SEC
A Foyer and culminate in the screenings of *Racing Extinction**.* The SEC A
Foyer will have booths and displays from Discovery Channel, and its
partners, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Greenpeace as well as its
sponsors, Huawei and Security Bank.
Please encourage your students to visit the Foyer and watch the film, which
would undoubtedly be an eye-opener for all of us.
We hope to see you there!
