[Blueboard] UK-Philippines Joint Research Call under the Newton Fund

The Newton Fund is a £375M (US$630M) fund under the UK’s Department for
Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). It is part of the UK’s Official
Development Assistance (ODA) to promote the economic development and social
welfare of partner countries. The UK’s Medical Research Council (MRC) and
the DOST’s Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD)
intend to work together to launch a joint call for research proposals which
will support UK-Filipino health research collaborations. The proposal must
be a research partnership between a UK institution and a Philippine
institution for a maximum duration of three (3) years.

The focus of this call is on researches on infectious diseases that are of
relevance to the Philippines. Particular research interest within this area
1. Genomics and molecular technologies
2. Diagnostics
3. Vaccines and therapeutics
4. Information and Communication Technology (ICT)/e-health
