University Communication & Public Relations Office

*Job Summary:*

Under the supervision of the Director and the Editorial Head, the
Communication Officer writes web content, press release, social media and
other literature for the University. He/she also assists in managing, and
monitoring Ateneo’s media exposures.

*Job Responsibilities:*

1.    Writes the following content:

·         web content

·         press releases

·         social media posts

·         other university/company literature

2.    Manages and posts materials (usually links to articles on the website
or status updates in cases of school or work cancellation) on the
university’s social media pages

·         Facebook https://www.facebook.com/ateneodemanila

·         Twitter http://www.twitter.com/ateneodemanilau

·         Youtube http://www.youtube.com/ateneodemanilau

·         Instagram https://instagram.com/theateneo/

·         Foursquare http://www.foursquare.com/ateneodemanilau

·         LinkedIn

3.    Monitors Ateneo’s media exposure through the university’s media
monitoring supplier together with the Administrative Assistant; collects,
analyzes and interprets data, for web analytics and media monitoring
information together with the Editorial Head.

4.    Interfaces with different units of the University; coordinates
communications requirements, as well as the various contacts in the media
(Print, Broadcast, Online)

5.    Provides recommendations and implement approved university
communications programs, media plans and other Public Relation activities


·          Bachelors degree in Communication, Journalism, Creative Writing
or any related field

·         At least 5 years of experience in any of these fields:
communications, journalism, copywriting, web content writing, social media

·         Experience in crafting communication plans

·         Ability to perform communication research, to analyze, and
interpret research data, including web analytics and media monitoring

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Web- and tech-savvy; ability to use new media technologies for
effective communication and PR

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel,

·         Experience in using the Content Management System (CMS) of a
company website an advantage

·         Knowledge of photography, a plus

·         Must have people-skills, service-orientation and, pleasant

·         Contacts with the different media groups is an advantage
