*Project:* Phase IV: REDD+ Safeguards Working Group (R-SWG)
*Location:* SDC Complex, Ateneo de Manila University, Katipunan Ave. Quezon
*Position: *Web Developer– part time
*Duration:* Six Months
*Report to: *REDD+ Safeguards Specialist and Communications Specialist

*Project Description and Objectives:*

The purpose of the project is to influence the outcomes of the 21st
Conference of Parties (COP 21) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate
Change (UNFCCC) in Paris in 2015, to ensure that human and ecological
rights are protected in land use activities and the gains in REDD+,
particularly on the safeguards, are secured. The project also aims to
enhance guidance on safeguard information systems (SIS) and sustain the
incentivization of non-carbon benefits.

In Phase 4 of the R-SWG through the Ateneo School of Government (ASoG), the
particular goals are as follows:

1. Provide leadership in advocating for the protection of indigenous and
community rights and biodiversity in the Paris agreement through a
rights-based approach, and for recognition that social and environmental
benefits and good governance are critical enablers for a positive climate
outcome from land use activities;
2. Continue to champion improved guidance on safeguards and SIS with the
aim of shifting the political consensus in favor of this over time and
advocate for international review of the safeguards summaries through the
3. Continue to advocate for incentivizing Non-Carbon Benefits (NCBs) (going
beyond the REDD+ safeguards);
4. Continue implementing our dissemination strategy which employs a
combined multi-media and direct contact approach to communicate key
messages systematically and using accessible language;
5. Maintain and enhance the engagement of the core groups and partnerships
currently driving the R-SWG, and engage other key groups that are less

potential for the R-SWG to transition to a “Watch” role.

*Scope of Work*

The Website Designer is responsible for the following tasks:

   - Strengthen site locatability by registering with search engines;
   - Provide information on site traffic and performance by collecting,
   analyzing, and summarizing data and trends;
   - Monitor performance and results, introduces and assesses improvement
   - Upgrade site content and graphics;
   - Protects site by designing and installing security precautions;
   - Post articles and photographs during the UNFCCC sessions;
   - Lay-out briefing papers and flyers for the UNFCCC sessions.


The Web Developer must have the following qualifications:

   - A graduate of an academic degree on information technology, e.g.,
   Management Information Systems, Computer Studies
   - Possesses knowledge of Basic SEO
   - Understands Browser Capabilities and Internet Presence, Web Graphic
   Design, Web User Interface Design, Web Programming Skills, Multimedia
   Content Development

*Duration and Salary*

The Web Developer will be hired for six months specifically in the months
of May, June, August, October, November and December of 2015.

*Number of Hours per Day:* 4 to 6 hours

*Salary per month: *Up to Php 12,000.00, depending on the competencies and
experience of the applicant
