The LS Office of Health Services, with the P.E. Department is glad to
announce that enrollment for the COMMIT TO BE FIT: Fitness Programs is now
ongoing on a first come first serve basis for students, faculty,
professionals and staff of the Loyola schools from Nov 17-21, 2014 with a
minimal participation fee. For details, kindly contact Ms. Madz Baroja at
Schedule of classes for each:
*ZUMBA FITNESS (Every Tuesday, 5:30 pm)*
Take the "work" out of workout, by mixing low and high-intensity moves for
an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness sessions. Once the Latin
and World rhythms take over, you'll see why Zumba Fitness classes are often
called exercise in disguise. Super effective? Super fun? Check and check.
*ZUMBA TONING (Every Friday, 5:30 pm)*
The challenge of adding resistance by using Zumba Toning Sticks (or light
weights), helps you focus on specific muscle groups, so you (and your
muscles) stay engaged!
*TAE BO AEROBICS (Every Tuesday and Thursday,5:30 pm)*
Burn those calories while learning a combination of combat boxing, dancing,
with strength and flexibility training.
*CIRCUIT TRAINING (Every Monday and Wednesday,5:30 pm )*
Spend minimum time in cardio and strength training workouts while moving
from one exercise to another for an over-all toning, sculpting, and
strength training to get maximum benefits from workouts.
*ADVANCE GYM (Every Monday and Wednesday,5:30 pm)*
For toning those muscles, the gyms steps up fitness with
circuited exercises and intense techniques tailored to your needs to make
sure your muscles get the workout they need.
*TAICHI (Every Friday, 5:30 pm)*
Enjoy a gentle way to fight stress by engaging in a series of slow,
meditative body movements with slow breathing. Originating from traditional
self-defense, tai- chi promotes inner peace and calm through graceful
movements to reconnect with your qi (vital energy).
*SELF-DEFENSE FOR MEN AND WOMEN (Every Wednesday, 5:30 pm)*
Get in shape while learning a mixture of martial arts basic techniques now
enriched with striking, kicking, leg kicks, sweeps, parries, evasion
tactics, footwork, elbow and knee strikes, and specific kinds of stances
that reflect defensive or attacking positions while improving balance and
