[Blueboard] Krzystof Kieslowski Film Festival

On the occasion of the 40th Year of Philippine – Polish Diplomatic

 We invite you to a Krzystof Kieslowski Film Festival featuring a screening
of three episodes of the critically acclaimed television series 'Decalogue'.

The launch is on Friday, 20 September, Escaler Hall, Ateneo de Manila
University, at 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

Reserved tickets for the launch are free but limited.

Decalogue consists of ten one-hour episodes examining moral and ethical
dilemmas in modern-day life.

At the launch, we will feature the tenth episode "Thou Shall Not Covet Thy
Neighbor's Goods." A distinguished panel will provide an introduction and
engage the audience in a discussion on the film's socio-cultural context,
philosophical and theological grounds and contemporary relevance.

Below is a listing of films to be featured in the Film Festival with a
brief synopsis of each:

*Episode 10:  *Tenth Commandment - ' Thou shalt not covet your neighbor's

Screening Date:  20 September, 5pm to 7pm, Escaler Hall, Ateneo de Manila

Two brothers inherit a valuable fortune from their deceased father and soon
become consumed and obsessed with their windfall. The brothers find
themselves entangled in a series of misadventures as they attempt to
understand, protect, and expand their newfound fortune.

*Episode 7*:  The Seventh Commandment - 'Thou shalt not steal'

Screening Date:  25 September, 4:30pm to 6:00pm, Faber Hall Room 302,
Ateneo de Manila University

The touching history of daughter and mother. A young woman abducts her own
child, who has been raised by her parents as her sister. In the course of
time, the conflict between the women escalates and they start to hurt each

*Episode 8 *Eighth Commandement -  "Thou shalt not bear false witness
against your neighbor"

Screening Date:  27 September, 4:30pm to 6:00pm, Faber Hall Room 302

A Holocaust survivor confronts an ethics professor who once refused to help
her on the basis of this commandment.
