A Town Hall Forum Series on Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship



*#NowTRENDING: Inclusive Social Business and Innovation in Europe and the
Philippines*

Guest speaker, Dr. Thomas H. Osburg, a social innovation and CSR expert and
Director of Europe Corporate Affairs of Intel Corporation will share his
experience and insights on the emerging trends on CSR, social innovation
and social entrepreneurship in Europe. Mr. Markus Dietrich, Director of the
Asian Social Enterprise Incubator (ASEI) and ADB Consultant for Inclusive
Business Study will give his response to Dr. Osburg's talk and present his
comparative analysis of Europe's social enterprise and inclusive business
innovation with the trends in the Philippines.

*About the Speakers*



*Dr. Thomas Osburg*

Dr. Osburg is the Director of Europe Corporate Affairs at Intel Corp. He is
responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of all Social
Innovation and CSR programs across Europe. Thomas holds a Ph.D. degree in
Economics and Business Administration from the Leibniz University of
Hannover (Germany). After his graduation, he held several Management
positions in the area of International Management and Marketing, CSR,
Education and Innovation at Texas Instruments, Autodesk and Intel, living
in France, the U.S. and Germany. Until 2005, before joining Intel, Thomas
was Director Education at Texas Instruments for the Pacific Markets and
thus managing the expansion of CSR and Educational programs into China,
Korea, Japan, Australia and South America. Thomas is currently a member of
the Board of Directors for CSR Europe, a member of the Management Board of
Directors for EABIS and he serves as Speaker for the member companies of
the German CSR Organization UPJ. In addition, Thomas is a Research Fellow
at the Center for Corporate Citizenship at the Catholic University of
Eichstätt-Ingolstadt and was appointed into the Scientific Committee of the
MBA Program at the University of Geneva. Recently, Thomas also got elected
as a Jury member for the prestigious “Sustainable Entrepreneurship Award”.



*Markus Dietrich*

Markus is the Director of Asian Social Enterprise Incubator (ASEI), a
Manila-based organization that identifies products and ideas with
transformative potential and helps to grow them into sustainable
businesses. He is also - for the ADB project - the team leader for the IB
market scoping study for the Philippines. Mr. Dietrich is a recognized
inclusive business specialist with extensive experience in research,
project development and consulting on base of the pyramid (BoP). His broad
knowledge of the BoP market and the development, financing, and operation
of social and inclusive enterprises in the Philippines is the foundation
for his consulting work with the Asian Development Bank, GIZ, ASOG BoP Asia
program, BCI Asia and various social enterprises. Markus has a B.Sc. in
Business Studies from CASS Business School and an MS International
Community Economic Development from the Southern New Hampshire University.
His Master’s thesis “Achieving Scale and Sustainability in a Social
Enterprise at the BoP” as well as his participation in INSEAD's Social
Entrepreneurship Programme has allowed him to interact and work in-depth
with various BoP and social enterprises in Asia
