What does the phrase "contracting colonialism" mean?
Is colonialism being likened to glass, which contracts as it cools?
Could it be that colonialism is similar to a service that can be contracted
out?
Or perhaps colonialism is like a disease, which unsuspecting victims
contract?

The quick answer is that "Contracting Colonialism" is a book by Vicente
Rafael.
And it's celebrating its 25th year in print!

Listen to Vince Serrano, Bomen Guillermo, and Vince Rafael himself explain
the significance of the book and its text at the 4th floor of the New Rizal
Library Building, Loyola Schools, Ateneo de Manila University, on Thursday,
26 September 2013, 4:30-6:00 pm.
