A major initiative under the Innovations at the Base of the Pyramid in  
Asia (iBoP Asia) Program of the Ateneo School of Government and  
supported by Canada’s International Development Research Centre,  
UNIID-SEA (short for Universities and Councils Network on Innovation  
for Inclusive Development in Southeast Asia) is a regional project  
that aims to facilitate knowledge- and capacity-development within  
universities and national research councils in Southeast Asia on  
innovation for inclusive development or IID. IID is broadly understood  
as “innovation that reduces poverty and enables all groups of people,  
especially the poor and marginalized, to participate in  
decision-making, create and actualize opportunities, and equitably  
share in the benefits of development”. Find out more about the project

UNIID-SEA is currently on the lookout for qualified candidates for  
PROJECT ASSOCIATE, who will:


I.   Principal Accountabilities

a.   Provide administrative, coordination and technical support to the  
project.

b.   Be in charge of the logistical requirements of project meetings,  
conferences, workshops and other activities.

c.   Be in charge of basic correspondences and communications  
primarily on administrative and financial matters.

d.   Be in charge of record keeping and overall project documentation.



II.  Project Development and Management

a.   Assist in conceptualizing new programs and proposals.

b.   Assist in organizing and conducting project activities.

c.   Coordinate with the Project Manager to meet deadlines for the  
submission of key project reports and deliverables.

d.   Assist resource-mobilizations activities for the project.



III. Documentation and Research

a.   Assist in the documentation of project activities.

b.   Conduct basic research for the project, as needed.

c.   Contribute in writing articles and papers for publication, as assigned.



IV.  Administrative support

a.   Prepares and coordinates the preparation of project financial  
reports, disbursements, cash advances, liquidation reports, billings,  
etc.

b.   Assist the Project Manager and the Finance Officer in tracking  
and monitoring project budget.

c.   Manages project files and supplies.

d.   Assist in the monitoring of project activities.



QUALIFICATIONS:

The minimum qualifications required for the abovementioned position are:


1. A college degree (in social sciences, management and other related  
courses);

2. Proficiency in the use of word-processing, spreadsheet, database  
and presentation applications;

3. At least one (1) year experience in development-oriented work in  
government, academe, civil society and/or the private sector;

4. Good oral and written communication skills, especially in English;

5. Ability to work as part of a diverse team and with international  
partners; and

6. Ability to learn and apply new knowledge and skills.
