[Blueboard] Ateneo CORD: Essential Skills in People Management

Essential Skills in People Management is a 3-day program designed to provide
line managers and beginners in the HR field with a basic understanding of
Human Resources Management. 

 

Module I: Strategic Human Resources Management

This introductory module presents an overview of the business environment
vis-à-vis the changing roles and functions of Human Resources in general. 

 

Module II: Human Resources Information System 

This module presents an overview of tools and appropriate support structures
for administering HR-related information using HRIS. This section also aims
to impart knowledge and skills in managing information resources to support
basic records management and personnel administration. 

 

Module III: Employee Selection 

The different methods of employee selection as well as concepts in
forecasting and identifying competencies will be tackled in this module.
Learners are expected to come up with an interview guide to assist them in
spotting competencies in their organization suitable for the job
requirements. 

 

Module IV: Performance and Rewards Management

Through case studies and exercises, concepts in managing employee
performance as well as pay and benefits will be taught in this module.
Learners will be able to hone skills in performance planning, performance
assessment, coaching and giving performance feedback. 

 

Module V: Employee Development

This segment teaches skills in determining employee development needs as
well as the different methods of training and development. At the end of the
module, participants are expected to come up with an employee development
plan of a certain position in their organization.  

 

Module VI: Employee Relations and Well-Being

This module will equip learners with the know-how in employee relations
including basic labor laws and managing employee organizations. Employee
well-being issues such as employee stress and burnout, smoking, and
work-life balance will also be covered

 

At the end of the program, participants are expected to:

1. Assess the role of HR in the organization

2. Analyze a job

3. Write a job description with the necessary competencies and job
requirements

4. Conduct a selection interview

5. Analyze performance

6. Create a training and development plan

7. Increase understanding of employee relations and well-being 

 

Date: October 17-19 , 2012

Time: 8:30am-5:30pm

Program Fee: P13,500 per participant inclusive of meals and materials for
the whole program
