The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies invites you to

"FPJ vs Jason Abalos: Interrogating Masculinities in the Studio Movies
and the New Wave Indie Films," a lecture by Dr. Nicanor G. Tiongson, on
29 November 2012,Thursday, 430-730 pm,at Faura AVR.

The lecture is the second in the series entitled "THE THIRD GOLDEN
AGE?: THE NEW WAVE FILIPINO INDIE FILM, 1999-2012," part of the master
class program of the School of Humanities.  The representative film
for this lecture is Jade Castro's "Endo."

Dr. Nicanor Tiongson is the editor of the Urian Anthology series, a
comprehensive history of Philippine cinema from the 1970s to the
present.  He was formerly Artistic Director of the Cultural Center of
the Philippines, Dean of the College of Mass Communication of the
University of the Philippines where he is also Professor Emeritus, and
a member of the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino.  Tiongson obtained
his AB in Humanities at the Ateneo de Manila University in 1965 and
his Ph.D. in Philippine Studies at the University of the Philippines
in 1979.

All the lectures are open to the public.  A certificate of
participation signed by the Dean of the School of Humanities will be
awarded to those who attend all eight lectures.
