[Blueboard] 2012 Nutrition Month Celebration in Loyola Schools

The Ateneo community is invited to commemorate national Nutrition  
Month this July.

At the Loyola Schools, food outlets and concessionaires have agreed to  
make an effort to sell nutritious meals according to the following  
themes from July 23 to 27, 2012.

Monday          Blue eats Green Day: fresh vegetables servings as main  
or side dishes will be made available

Tuesday         Fruit day:  fiber-rich to reduce the risk of heart  
disease, obesity, and type 2 diabetes.

Wednesday       Carrots and Kalabasa day: rich sources of carotenoids  
and antioxidants vitamin C, vitamin E, and lipoic acid.

Thursday        Fish and Seafood: low in fat and a good source of  
polyunsaturated fatty acids such as omega 3 oils.

Friday          Malunggay: a rich source amino acids and mineral  
include calcium, Copper, Iron, Potassium, Magnesium, Manganese and Zinc.

As part of the month?s activities, the Office of Health Services would  
like to invite interested Loyola Schools Employees (Administrators,  
Faculty, Professional and Staff)  aged 35 and above to avail of Free  
Bone Scanning, on July 25 and 27, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.   
Those interested may pre-register to reserve a schedule at the Office  
of Health Services, local 5180 on a first come, first served basis.   
Please ask for Ms. Madelaine Baroja.

To launch the beginning of Nutrition Awareness activities at the  
Loyola Schools, there will be a small ribbon cutting ceremony to be  
held at the AMPC Canteen on July 23, 2010 at 12 Noon at the AMPC  
Canteen.  The activities are coordinated by the Office of Vice  
President in cooperation with the Offices of the Health Service  
(LSHS), Administrative Services (OAS), Human Resources Management  
Office (HRMO), Student Activities (OSA), Sanggunian ng mga Mag-aaral  
ng mga Paaralang Loyola ng Ateneo De Manila (SANGGU), Council of  
Organizations of the Ateneo (COA), P.E. Department, Health Sciences  
and Environmental Sciences Department, and the LS Food Outlet  
Concessionaires namely: AMPC, Blue and Gold, Bo?s Coffee, Manang?s  
Clubhouse, JSEC, and Residence Hall Cafeterias: Zekaf and Urban Chef.

In John Gokongwei Student Enterprise Center (JSEC), Student  
Entrepreneurs will be serving healthy varieties of meals high in  
protein, salads, whole wheat sandwiches, healthy beverages and  
desserts, made of fruits and vegetables.
