A brief introduction to the film will be presented by Dr. Lim Sang  
Woo, Korean Visiting Professor at the History Department. Film showing  
will be followed by an open discussion.

GENRE: Historical Drama

DESCRIPTION: Set in 16th century Joseon (last Korean kingdom,  
1392-1910), the film chronicles the underground culture that dominated  
the lives of ordinary Koreans (Baeksong) at that time, centering on  
the king's affection for his court clown, whose performance depicted  
the unpopular rule of the king. Narrating a story of love, power and  
passion, the film won numerous awards both locally and internationally  
and was Korea's highest-grossing film in 2005.

RUNNING TIME: approx. 120 minutes
