[Blueboard] Invitation to help redesign the Ateneo website
jjavellana-santos at ateneo.edu
Tue Jan 10 16:30:32 PHT 2012
To all web coordinators and point persons:
The Ateneo de Manila University website was last redesigned in 2005. Mostly
because of technological advances and in the way the Internet has become a
part of people's daily lives, the University Communication and Public
Relations Office has deemed it necessary to revamp the Ateneo website, one
of the university's most important communication tools both within the
community and with the outside world.
In the second half of 2011, a call was then put out for groups to redesign
www.ateneo.edu. Initially almost 50 web development groups answered the
call, and these groups were pared down to seven. These seven groups then
presented their ideas to a web advisory committee composed of technical and
design minded people.
They were further trimmed down until only Spinweb Technologies Inc. was
chosen to do the make-over of the Ateneo website, it's design and content
management system as well.
Before Spinweb's development team can begin their work, they would like to
get the input of all the sectors and departments involved, which basically
means that of the entire university.
In line with this, the development team of Spinweb will present their ideas
for the new website and will show designated website users for each
department how much easier it will be for them to do so. They will also
gather feedback for the redesigned site.
Their presentation and an ensuing question and answer session will be held
on Saturday, January 28, at 9:30 am at the multi-purpose hall on the ground
floor of Faber Hall.
Please nominate point persons for each department to attend this meeting
then please inform the UCPRO (email julie.javellana-santos at ateneo.edu) who
will be attending.
Happy New Year!
