Management Fundamentals is a two-day course aimed at developing and applying
Management Principles in Planning, Organizing, Leading, and Controlling

 

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

•          assess, develop, and improve their leadership attitude, behavior
and skills

•          have a better grip of the management function

•          hone their competencies in planning, organizing, leading, and
controlling

•          have the  opportunity to reflect on their own leadership style
and develop their leadership

 

Course Outline:

Module I: Introduction to Management

This module familiarizes participants with the Management Process of
Planning, Leading, Organizing and Controlling. Participants also learn about
the various responsibilities, characteristics, qualities and authority of a
manager through a case study exercise. There is also a lecture on the
dimensions of leadership, highlighting the difference between leadership and
management.

 

Module II: Planning

The first phase of the Management process is Planning. In this module,
several types and reasons for planning are presented. Participants are also
introduced to the Strategic Planning Framework. Participants will also
practice developing objectives and SWOT Analysis. A lecture on forecasting,
objective setting and action plans will be discussed. 

 

Module III: Organizing

In this module, participants learn about developing an organization
structure and the principles of delegating and coordinating. They are
equipped with the knowledge and skill of organizing, delegating and
coordinating through group discussions and various exercises.

 

Module IV: Leading

This module introduces several leadership paradigms and functions,
particularly situational leadership. Participants learn about the key steps
in decision-making, the communication process, and the importance of
coaching. Motivation principles and theories are also presented. 

 

Module V: Controlling

The last phase of the Management process is Controlling. This is defined as
the work that the managers perform to monitor ongoing work activities Thus,
this module presents the various types, principles and process of control.
Guidelines for setting standards in the workplace and evaluating performance
are also introduced.

Time: 8:30am-5:30pm

Program Fee: P9,000 per participant inclusive of meals and materials for the
whole program
