The Ateneo Art Gallery is pleased to announce that Rodel Tapaya, a
three-time Ateneo Art Awards finalist, received the Grand Prize at the
prestigious Asia Pacific Breweries (APB) Foundation Signature Art
Prize in a glittering ceremony held at the Glass Hall of the Singapore
Art Museum last Thursday, 17 November 2011.

Tapaya's artwork titled "Baston ni Kabunian, Bilang Pero di
Mabilang"(Cane of Kabunian, numbered but cannot be counted), which was
nominated by Ateneo Art Gallery Director and Chief Curator Ramon E.S.
Lerma, was picked by an eminent international jury as the top winner
among 130 entries from 24 countries and territories.

The Signature Art Prize recognizes the most significant work of art
created in the Asia-Pacific region over the past three years. This is
the first time that the Philippines has had an entry in the competition.
