All are invited to the Talk to be given by Mr. Albert Joseph Emas, an
Operations Improvement Engineer from Shell Philippines, about "Clean
Energy and Prospects for the Future". The talk willl be held at 9:30
am at the Social Science Conference Room 1&2.

The talk is in connection with the Malampaya Oil and Gas Exhibit of Shell
Philippines Exploration B.V. which can be viewed at the Social Science
Foyer from June 27 to July 1, 2011, from 8 am to 5 pm.

This exhibit aims to educate students on the nature, formation,
process of exploration and production, uses and importance of natural
gas. The story is presented via a multi-media interactive format.

In 1992, Shell Philippines Exploration B.V. discovered the Malampaya
Gas Field located less than 100 kms offshore Palawan. The natural gas
reserves are enough to provide electricity needed in Luzon for 20
years. To make the nation benefit from these reserves, the Department
of Energy launched the Malampaya Deep-Water Gas-to-Power Project. The
title captures the entire process of the project - from the extraction
of gas in its raw form to its transformation into power and energy.

Currently the largest and most important undertaking in the
Philippines today, the Malampaya Project gave birth to the natural gas
industry which will enable our country to have savings as we import
less oil from other countries.
