How to donate to the Ateneo de Manila University through the Philippine
Jesuit Foundation (PJF) USA

June 4, 2011

Greetings, Ateneo de Manila University community! We are pleased to
announce a new and convenient giving channel for Ateneo alumni and
friends residing in the U.S.A.

If you are residing in the U.S.A., aside from tax-deductible donations
by check sent to the Philippine Jesuit Foundation (PJF) USA (see the
mailing address below) for the Ateneo de Manila University for your
favorite scholarship fund, professorial chair, development fund, or
charity, you can now also make a tax-deductible donation through the
PJF's online credit card donation facility which is secured with SSL
encryption. Donations to the PJF are deductible gifts under the US Tax
Code Section 501(c)(3).

To start the donation process, click on the following link, or copy and
paste it on your browser's address bar.

If you would like to donate using a check, write out your check to:
"Philippine Jesuit Foundation" and place it in an envelope with a cover
instruction memo stating (1) the donor's name, mailing address, and
email address, and (2) the name of the Ateneo de Manila beneficiary
project or fund you would like your donation directed to, and mail the
envelope to:

Ms. Margaret B. Llamas
Executive Director
Philippine Jesuit Foundation, Inc.
P.O. Box 312, New York, N.Y. 10028, U.S.A.

You may email Margaret at <pjfexecdir at phjesuits.org
<mailto:pjfexecdir at phjesuits.org>> to let her know you have mailed a
check to the PJF or have made a donation online.

If you are residing in the Philippines or in another country aside from
the U.S.A., simply give in Philippine pesos directly to the Ateneo de
Manila University, and the Ateneo will give you a peso receipt. (If you
are residing in the Philippines, the PJF cannot accept your donations
because PJF is a U.S. foundation which can accept only U.S.
tax-deductible donations.)

Note that Philippine tax laws do not allow donations from individuals to
be tax-deductible. Only corporations can make tax-deductible donations
and the donee (e.g. Ateneo de Manila University) must be a PCNC
accredited donee institution. The Ateneo de Manila University is a PCNC
accredited donee institution.

Please update your classmates and friends in the U.S.A. about the new
convenient online giving channel of the PJF, and do continue to remind
them to donate to the Ateneo de Manila through the PJF. Any net income
of PJF is donated to the Philippine Province Aged and Infirm Fund which
supports the elderly and sick Jesuits in the Philippines.

Check and online donations will be remitted to the Ateneo de Manila net
of the PJF 5% service fee and of credit card charges. For a donation to
the Ateneo de Manila for scholarships, the Ateneo will contribute to
cover the service fee and credit card charges, so that the gross
donation amount will be credited to the donor and the full donation
amount deposited in the scholarship fund of the donor’s choice.

Thank you.

Best regards.

Hector P. Guballa
Assistant Vice President
Office of University Development and Alumni Relations
