[Blueboard] Revision to our Guidelines for Capital Expenditures

MEMO TO:   All Budget Administrators

 

FROM       :   Vice President for Finance and Treasurer

 

SUBJECT :    Revision to our Guidelines for Capital Expenditures

            Please take note of the change in the University's Capitalization Policy on Furniture and Equipment (formerly New Equipment), from a minimum cost of Php5,000 to Php10,000 per piece effective FY 2011-2012 (please see the Revised Budget Form 5 - green form).  All requests for furniture and equipment costing less than Php10,000 per piece should be included in the Supplies and Expenses requests (Budget Form 4 - pink form) under a new account "Non Capitalized Furniture and Equipment" and a new account number "547".  Commonly requested items like Venetian blinds, plastic drums, monoblock chairs, calculators, and other small equipment should be included in this new account.  Please accomplish Budget Form 4-B and indicate the list of all the requested non capitalizable furniture and equipment together with the justifications.

 

            We would also like to request all units to use the following unit prices for their computer requests:

 

            Computer A (BASIC) - P 24,000

                 For usual office use such as MS Office/Open Office, web browsing, antivirus, PDF reader, SPSS, school info systems (e.g. AISIS, AIFIS, etc.).

 

            Computer B1 (ADVANCED-GENERAL) - P 27,000

                 For heavy computing, processing and multimedia requirements such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Indesign, Macromedia Flash, Math computational and other scientific/engineering software tools.

 

            Computer B2 (ADVANCED-HEAVY) - P 30,000

                 For heavy computing, editing, processing and multimedia requirements such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Indesign, Macromedia lash, used for school administration and production purposes.

 

            

 

            Please note that the above amounts already include the Microsoft Base Licenses.
