>The Ateneo Psychology Department in partnership with Ateneo Psyche held 
>its annual Undergraduate Research Conference last February 27, 2009 at the 
>Leong Hall Auditorium.  The event was preceded by a week-long poster 
>exhibit of all the theses of the Psychology senior students of batch 2009 
>at the Social Sciences Building foyer.  The day was capped with Ateneo 
>Psyche's Psych Seniors Send Off party dedicated to the graduating seniors.

>The six finalists for Best Thesis 2009 presented their research papers to 
>an appreciative crowd.  After all studies were presented, the much-awaited 
>awards were announced.

>For Best Posters, team members of the following groups were given 
>Certificates of Recognition and token gifts.

>3rd place: "Pangalawang Nanay: A Phenomenological Study on the Filipino Yaya"
>
>by Angelica Garcia, Mary Dizon, and Michelle Escalona advised by Dr. Liane 
>P. Alampay.
>
>
>2nd place:  "I am Trapped: A Study on the Lives of Male-to-Female 
>Transgenders"

>by Cristina Valera, Vianca Villarica, and John Ronnette Zambrano advised 
>by Dr.Anna G. Miren Intal.

>1st place:  "Kabig ng Manibela:Factors that Contribute to the Road 
>Behavior of Urban Jeepney Drivers"

>by Danilo Alcoseba, Isabel Aquino, and Kloe Carvajal advised by Dr. Lota Teh.

>Winners for  Best Thesis 2009 were given  medallions, Certificates of 
>Recognition and tokens gifts.

>3rd place went to Dr. Liane Alampay's students, Christine Chua, Ana 
>Enerio, and Georgia Gana for their research entitled "A Phenomenological 
>Study on the Modern Filipino Woman's Sexual Script"

>2nd place went to Dr. Mira Ofreneo's students, Regina Arcilla, Cara David, 
>and Akela Sydiongco for their research entitled "Mayayaman, Bagong Bayani 
>ng Bayan: Towards a Model of Top Executive's Engagement in Corporate 
>Social Responsibility"

>1st place prize went to Dr. Tina Montiel's students, Meriam Esmenda, 
>Rowena Parane, and Catherine Sorra for their study entitled "A Discursive 
>View of the 2008 Philippine Rice Crisis: Positioning in Public Space"

>It was a fruitful event where students and teachers took pride  in jobs 
>well done.  We congratulate and thank the mentors for their dedication to 
>scholarship and social relevance. We look forward to this continuing 
>tradition of Psychology seniors providing the Ateneo community with
