who will speak on

DOING SOCIAL SCIENCE RESEARCH IN MINDANAO
4 February 2009, Wednesday

Leong Hall Auditorium


This is a discussion on the diverse research resources and research agenda on 
the colorful culture but at times painful history of Mindanao. Fr. Albert E. 
Alejo, SJ surveys the current research trends in studying Mindanao history, 
culture, politics, and environment, and identifies research gaps for possible 
serious analysis. He will highlight on the non-mainstream issues touching on 
the search for peace in Mindanao. He brings with him his experience as head of 
Mindanawon Initiatives for Cultural Dialogue, Director of Research and 
Publication Office of the Ateneo de Davao University, director of the Mindanao 
Conference on the Mindanao Peace and Development Pradigms, editor of the four-
volume of Annotated Bibliography of Mindanao Studies, and now as Project 
Director of the Bishop-Ulama Conference Mindanao-wide community consultations 
on the peace process.
