JOB OPENING ANNOUNCEMENT
Ateneo School of Government - Center for Social Policy

Position: WEB ADMINISTRATOR
   Science and Technology Innovations for the Base of the Pyramid in
   Southeast Asia Project (iBoP Asia)

Scope of Work

The Web Administrator will have the following functions and responsibilities:

Under general supervision and working closely with the Communications  
Coordinator, he/she primarily maintains and updates the project  
website (www.ibop-asia.net) and performs routine web administration  
tasks for iBoP Asia and ASoG, including developing the architecture  
and layout of web pages, assembly and posting of graphics and text,  
troubleshooting and resolving website performance issues, and  
providing general/specific advice to the project team and other ASoG  
personnel on website use and capabilities. He/she will be directly  
accountable to the Project Director/Dean of ASoG.

Specifically, he/she will:

?	Designs and develops the architecture, design, functionality and  
security of the iBoP Asia website and other ASoG sites.
?	Maintains, monitors, and prepares reports on the performance of ASoG  
websites.
?	Troubleshoots and resolves website operational issues.
?	Coordinates with communications/content managers to gather  
information for placement on web pages.
?	Reviews information to be posted to ASoG websites and ensures that  
posted information is visually consistent with established graphic  
standards.
?	Updates the content and layout of web pages.
?	Advises the project team and other concerned ASoG units on issues  
concerning the content and presentation of information on School  
websites.
?	Serves as a resource person on the planning and development of ASoG  
websites.
?	Designs systems for database generation, integrates information from  
various databases, formats and presents data, and monitors and  
maintains web-based data collection systems.
?	Writes and maintains on-line documentation (user manuals and other  
reference materials).
?	Perform other related tasks to be delegated by the Project  
Director/Dean of ASoG.


Qualifications:

He/she must have the following qualifications:

- A college graduate of any IT/Communications Technology Management course;
- Capable of handling coordinative and administrative tasks  
systematically, with focus and due diligence;
- Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of web page and  
website construction and maintenance; industry standard web-based  
programming languages; features and capabilities of websites;  
principles of graphic presentation and design in a web-based  
environment; standard business English, grammar and spelling; database  
software; software used in the development, monitoring and  
administration of a website. Specifically, candidate must have  
sufficient knowledge in Apache, PHP, MySQL, Joomla!, and Dreamweaver,  
and must be familiar with the Mac OS environment and Mac applications.
- Competence in basic information management is a plus;
- Can easily interact, network and coordinate with people;
- A work experience with similar job description is a plus;
- Strong interest in science and technology (S&T) and poverty issues  
is a plus.
