The Loyola Schools' Awards for the Arts (LSAA), formerly called the
Dean's Awards for the Arts, are presented each year to seniors of the
Loyola Schools who have done outstanding work in the arts.

The Awards recognize the students' artistry as expressed in the style
and vision of outputs and achievements in the following categories:
creative writing (poetry, fiction, literary essay, and playwriting),
theatre arts, screen arts, visual arts (painting, photography, graphic
design, and illustration), music, dance, and evolving forms*.
* This category recognizes non-mainstream platforms for artistic
engagement, evolving vigorously even if currently enjoying limited
forms of support. Evolving forms explore alternative possibilities
for the freshness of formal and philosophical expressions, presenting
creative challenges to traditional practices.

An LSAA Committee composed of faculty members of the Loyola Schools
will evaluate the entries and determine awardees for each category.

Nominations in the different artistic categories are now being
accepted by the Committee. To be eligible, a nominee must be a
student of the Loyola Schools in his or her senior or fifth year.
Nomination letters addressed to the Committee may be sent to the
School of Humanities Dean's Office or e-mailed to this address:
humani at admu.edu.ph.

Eligible nominees are required to submit the following documents to
the School of Humanities Dean's Office, G/F Horacio de la Costa Hall:
1. A personal artistic portfolio
2. An updated resume
3. A duly accomplished personal data sheet and two (2) recommendation
letters to be obtained from the SOH Dean's Office, and submitted to
the same office. The data sheet and recommendation letter can also be
downloaded from the Ateneo de Manila University website at this URL:

The deadline for submission of portfolios, data sheets, and
recommendation letters is on Wednesday, 7 January 2009, at 5:00 p.m.
(Only Ateneo faculty members and/or students may nominate candidates
for the Awards.) This deadline is final. The announcement of
awardees will be made on Wednesday, 25 February 2009. The awardees
will receive a plaque during a ceremony on Wednesday, 11 March 2009.

Thank you very much.
