The Ateneo CORD and the John Gokongwei School of Management warmly
invite you to the launching of Leading Philippine Organizations in a
Changing World: Research and Best Practices, on Wednesday, March 12,
from 1.30 to 4.30 pm, at the 4th Floor of Gateway Mall, Mandarin Oriental
Suites,
Cubao, Quezon City.

The launch features presentations by Dr. Edna Franco, Executive
Director of CORD, on the implications of her study called "Framing the
Meanings of Work for Filipinos" and Ms. Imelda Centeno, who will speak
about building and sustaining the bayanihan culture at Unilab, one of
the organizations featured in the book.

Edited by National Book Award finalists Dr. Ma. Regina Hechanova
and Dr. Franco, and with a Foreword by Father Ben Nebres,
Leading Philippine Organizations gathers together
15 research-based articles that can help business leaders,
human resource managers, and industrial or organizational psychology
faculty and practitioners gain insight into the challenges of leading
workers
and organizations in these times of rapid technological advance, virtual
management set-ups, and changing composition of the work force.

At the same time, the book shows that there are issues that remain
important in spite of a different environment: the power of vision,
the need to build and sustain organizational culture, and importance
of professionalizing businesses.

Leading Philippine Organizations in a Changing World goes beyond
traditional Western-style paradigms of managing organizations to look
more deeply into and consider more critically the local culture and
mind-set.
The approach makes for more relevant and appropriate learning and practice
in
the contemporary work place.

Published by the Ateneo de Manila University Press, Leading Philippine
Organizations is now available at Powerbooks (490-1158), Popular
