ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Hailed by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of the top 35 entrepreneurs
under 35, Maoi Arroyo is the CEO and founder of Hybridigm Consulting,
the first biotechnology consulting firm in the Philippines. Hybridigm
enables its clients to commercialize technology, partnering with them
on the journey from science to enterprise. Hybridigm's current client
roster includes private equity investors in the UK, start-up biotech
companies in Shanghai, as well as 12 existing local biotech
In 2005, Ms. Arroyo was appointed to several positions of
responsibility in developoing a national strategy for biotechnology
entrepreneurship. She is the lead consultant for the Export
Development Council and DOST's biotechnology clustering initiative and
part of the technology assessment panel of PCASTRD.
She is also co-organizer of two major private sector initiatives:
TechnoNegosyo (spearheaded by the Philippine Center for
Entrepreneurship) and PESO, an annual technology and innovation
business plan competition.
Ms. Arroyo was a member of the inaugural class of Master's in
Bioscience enterprise, a professional practice program developed by
the University of Cambridge, Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences
and Technology (HST) and the MIT Sloan School of Management. She is a
recepient of British Chevening Scholarship and obtained her first
degree in Biology from the University of the Philippines in Diliman.
