POWER: The scheduled power outage last Monday, 9 April from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Balara grid lasted up to 10:44 p.m. because:

1.. Problems were encountered in installing the electronic meter equipment for the Balara grid in the afternoon that lasted until the evening. The standard Meralco power supply is 34.5 KV. It must be stepped-down to Ateneo's unique 2.4/4.16 KV system in the Balara grid.
2.. When the electronic meter was finally installed, problems were detected in the secondary lead of the special voltage transformer of the Ateneo. Remedial measures took more time than anticipated.

SECURITY: A Jesuit Communication Foundation personnel left her Sony Ericsson P900 cell phone in an ABC Transport Inc. taxi at 7:00 a.m. last Tuesday, 10 April. By the time she discovered her cell phone missing, the taxi had left the campus. Fortunately, the owner of the cell phone managed to contact the driver and made arrangements for the return of her cell phone.

Around 8:00 p.m. that evening, Mr. Julius Legayad, driver of the ABC transport taxi with plate number PXG 682 went back and returned the cell phone to the owner at the Sonolux building. Mr. Legayad is commended for his honesty. Unfortunately no picture was taken of the honest driver.
