            foundation [foun-dey-shuhn] - the basis or groundwork of anything: the moral foundation of both society and religion.

            In the month of September 2006, our "basic" courses will now take new faces as the topics will be improved molding the needs our clients (from private individuals, to the pastoral communities and service oriented organizations) together with the "know-hows" of our instructor line-up, building a better, more solid foundation of knowledge for our students. Presenting the PRO line-up:

              a.. pro.VIDEOS - video editing with Adobe Premier

              Be introduced to the world of digital video imaging and editing. The objectives of the course is to empower the students in the process of editing through non-linear format, making them understand, inevitably familiarizing them with various well-known video-editing softwares. Participants will also learn how to import a variety of audio, video, graphics and animation files that will suit the intended output. With this class, find out how to maximize your videos with techniques that mesh with your styles, turning your personal, corporate, or commercial projects in to professional-looking creations.

              a.. pro.IMAGE - graphics design with Adobe Photoshop 

              Be introduced to graphics design and translate your creative concepts into effective, tangible, dynamic visuals using the most relevant software used by Professional Graphic Designers. pro.IMAGE is a foundation class on graphics design, spinning off to the use of one of the most versatile software available - Adobe Photoshop. Learn the necessary basics of the software, from file organization, to features, toolbars, functions and special capabilities then apply it to create effective and meaningful content.

              Desktop publishing has never reach such heights with the emergence of so much talents, as well as cut-edge software providing faster production and more flexible creative environments. With this 4 day, 12 hour foundation workshop, learn graphics design and desktop publishing like never before and understand how professionals create sophisticated layouts - in brochures, books, posters - combining stylish graphics and typography using Adobe InDesign.

            With the success of the first batch of Photoworks @ the Garage concluding last August 14, 2006 (check below for last batch's details), filling out slots in two weeks of announcement, we are proud to reveal its second coming! 

              a.. photo.WORKS @ the Garage Batch 2 

              The brainchild of Mr. Leo Castillo, Photoworks is a workshop created based on his studies at the New York Film Academy and the New York Institute of Photography. With his background in film, photography and production, combined with his expertise in training and development, he created Photoworks in 2002--an acclaimed photography class designed to help build a solid foundation on the art and craft of photography. The workshop has produced more than 500 photographers. 
            Discover photography as you've never known before...

                b.. Learn not just the hows, but also the whys 
                c.. Find out what works and what doesn't in creating a powerful image 
                d.. The goal: to create good photographers, not just good photographs

              a.. Web Development's Ultimate Crash Course 
            Upon visiting your www.friendster.com, www.nba.com, www.google.com, or www.nationalgeographic.com, have you ever wondered what "www" or ".com" exactly means? This 5 day course will let you know and then some more. Web Development's Ultimate Crash Course Workshop will empower its students with proper know-how with what, why and how the internet is running, then expanding the knowledge to application by hands-on creation of a website through the use of HTML, CSS and inevitably Macromedia Dreamweaver. 

              a.. pro.OPISINA Series 
            The pro.OPISINA Series is a set of workshops intended to address the interest of many people in either upgrading, or even gaining a "start" in their computer skills to be used for offices through the most relevant office softwares. From documents, to accounting sheets, to presentations, students will be given the opportunity to make things easier and more efficient within their respective professions by being given hands-on based lectures on office computer use.

Congratulations to Voltaire Veneracion, Raul Rodriguez, Mari Ann Africa de Dios, Marilen Africa Dimayuga, Owen Tiam, Alvin Tsoi, Jessica Tsoi, Michelle Tsoi, Homer Gallido, Paul Syjuco, Christine Herrin, Cathie Jao, Fr. Nelson Orqueta, Poch Robles, Gertrude Lugtu, Dr. Caloy Reyes, Kat Claravall, Paolo Gonzalez, Jerex Llaguno, Richard Cruz, Camille Bollozos, Maria Socorro, Michelle Correa, Noel Liok and Norman Tiongson for having completed the Photoworks @ the Garage Batch 1 from July 26 to August 14, 2006! Thank you for making the first batch a success! The insights, creative instincts and "korny hirits" will start off a wonderful photography series for the Garage. God bless to all! 
              b.. Also, congratulations to Noel Liok for his participation in the Batanes and Other Destinations exhibit held in the Powerplant last August 26. At the same time, congrats also to Paul Syjuco. He has an exhibit on-going at the One Workshop Gallery, La Fuerza Plaza Sabio St. cor Pasong Tamo titled "Found Objets: a collection of concept jewels" running until the 31st. The place runs upto 12mn so drop by if you can.
