The Department of Psychology cordially invites
all our Ateneo colleagues to a colloquium on:

Asian Parenting and Child Development

by Prof. Chang Lei
Department of Educational Psychology
Chinese University of Hongkong

Friday, July 28, 2:30-4:00 pm
SS Conference Rooms 3 & 4
Social Sciences Building

We hope to see you there!

Born and raised in China, Chang Lei received his PhD in 1992 from the
University of Southern California and is currently Professor, Department
of Educational Psychology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. With five
books (all in Chinese) and seventy refereed journal publications, Chang
conducts research in the areas of child social development and parenting,
among other things. His current work based on Chinese children looks at
parenting beliefs and behavior that relate to children's physical and
material well-being versus psychological and affective experiences. This
work reveals potential East-West differences as well as pan-cultural
developmental similarities. He and his wife, a cognitive developmental
psychologist, Catherine McBride-Chang, have two children.
