[Blueboard] Lecture by Peter Porticos (Mostly Mozart)

As part of the "Mostly Mozart" festival, the Interdisciplinary Studies
Department invites you to a lecture-demonstration by Peter Porticos on
the life and music of Mozart.

Peter Porticos holds a "Diplominstrumentalist" degree from the Hochschule
fuer Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin, Germany, where he studied piano
performance and chamber music under Prof. Walter Olbertz from 1996 to
2001. In 2005, he has attended intensive masterclasses in German Lieder
under Prof. Norman Shetler at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg,
Austria.  Porticos has also given solo recitals and chamber music
concerts in different cities in Europe.

In the Philippines, he has performed as soloist of the Manila Philharmonic
Orchestra under the baton of Rodel Colmenar. His other performances
include concerts at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Philamlife
Theatre, Equitable PCI Bank tower, Concert at the Park, Paco Park
Presents and the Pundaquit Chamber Music Festival.
Porticos also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the
Ateneo de Manila University and a Bachelor of Music degree in piano
performance (magna cum laude) from the University of Santo Tomas
Conservatory of Music, where he studied under Fr. Manuel Maramba, OSB,
Marina Escano and Leonor Kilayko.

He is currently a faculty member of the U.S.T. Conservatory of Music and
is the coordinator of its piano department.
