TRAFFIC: The Math exam last Monday, July 3 caused heavier than usual traffic late in the afternoon. The campus experienced heavy traffic due to the large number of vehicles during peak hours and also due to the loading and unloading of students at pick-up points. To improve traffic flow during peak hours, another drop-off and pick-up point has been designated in the Loyola Schools complex show in the map below:

The new drop-off and pick-up point is behind the Matteo Ricci Hall (encircled in red in the map). This is in addition to the Gonzaga drop-off and pick-up point. LS students are encouraged to use the Matteo Ricci drop-off/pick-up point to minimize congestion at the Fr. Masterson-Paseo de Reilly junction.

LS students are also encouraged to use the new access road (shown above Erenchun field) leading to the diversion road (parallel to Katipunan). By using this road, Fr. Masterson Drive will be decongested.

When this information was relayed to the Gate 3 guards, SG Venancio L Tepino had the presence of mind to stop outgoing tricycles and asked them to return the cell phone they found. One of the drivers pulled out the cell phone from his pocket and this was returned to the student.

The community is requested to remember the body number and color of the tricycle they take. This will assist the guards recover lost items.

A Loyola Schools faculty member was held up around 9:15 p.m. last Tuesday, 4 July on her way home along Esteban Abada. The faculty member was close to her dormitory when a man poked a pointed object at her back. The suspect took her cell phone, MP3 player, passport, wallet (with ATM card, driver's license, Ateneo ID & cash) and her paycheck.

The faculty member resisted and went after the suspect who got into a waiting tricycle. The victim reported the incident to campus security but it was too late to pursue the suspect. Campus security took the victim to PNP Precinct 9 at 10:45 p.m.
