CHED-Higher Education Development Project (HEDP)
Faculty Development Program
Full-time scholarships available for qualified Loyola Schools faculty

The CHED-HEDP offers a limited number of full-time scholarships
for qualified tertiary faculty members:
    * Scholarships for the master's with thesis
    * PhD local scholarships
    * One year PhD sandwich dissertation grants abroad.
Faculty members who are currently enrolled for the master’s
or PhD may also apply for the scholarships.


Scholarship benefits

For the master's with thesis and PhD local scholarships -
Full tuition and fees, monthly stipend, book allowance, thesis/dissertation 
grant

For the one year PhD sandwich dissertation grants abroad -
Maximum allocation of US $25,000 per faculty scholar


Who may apply

For the Loyola Schools (LS) faculty members:
Full-time faculty members teaching in any of the identified priority fields
who have completed at least 2 ½ to 3 years of service at the LS
and do not have a master’s or doctoral degree

Note: To avoid inbreeding, the CHED set a limit of one faculty member
per program for those taking the master’s with thesis or
local PhD in their own institution.  No limit has been set
on the one year PhD sandwich dissertation grants abroad.

General requirements
·    Good academic record;

·    Filipino citizen;

·    In good health;

·    No pending criminal/administrative charges and
must not have been convicted for violation of any Philippine law;

·    Not more than 45 years old for the master’s with thesis;
not more than 47 years old for the Local PhD and
one-year PhD sandwich dissertation grant abroad;

·    Willing to render the required service obligation.

Specific Requirements for the
One-year PhD Sandwich Dissertation Grant Abroad
·    Finished all the courses required for the
PhD program in the priority field;

·    Passed the comprehensive examinations
for the program enrolled in;

·    Successfully defended the dissertation proposal; and

·    Accepted in a university abroad as a research fellow with a
faculty member willing to act as adviser while doing research abroad.
The local adviser should be involved in the search for the adviser abroad.

Application deadlines / Start of scholarship period
(Deadlines include LS faculty development process for these scholarships)

April 17, 2006  for June 2006
August 31, 2006  for November 2006
January 31  for April 2007
March 7, 2007  for June 2007
