ESSC is a Jesuit research institute working to ensure scientific analysis is
used more effectively for social change that improves lives of local people.


ESSC is looking for a socially-committed and technically-competent HR
Manager  who seeks professional growth, field experience, and who value the
challenge of working in a dynamic non-profit institute. The HR Manager
position is to be located at its Luzon Office at Quezon City and would
require full-time engagement. Candidates should have the energy and
flexibility to work and interact effectively with other units of the
institute.  We are now accepting applicants for immediate hiring.


Below is a  brief job description and qualification for the Human Resource
Manager position. Compensation is commensurate to qualification.

PG XIII -  Manila- Based


The HR Manager reports directly to the Executive Director and has an overall
responsibility in managing the day to day HR issues such as, ensuring
compliance with institute's governance ( Employee Relations ) ; counseling
employees regarding performance issues; liaising with other support
functions such as Payroll and strict implementation of the HR policies.


Basic Functions


*       Implement an institutional personnel management system within the
context of an institutional awareness;

*       Must be aware of the need for constant review and enhancement;

*       Maintain sound organizational structure and safe and secure working
conditions within an institutional work culture amongst staff that is
professional yet with a nurturing nature;

*       Implementation of an appropriate staff development process with a
pro-active search for institutional partnerships for training and

*       Implementation of staff skills and competence monitoring and
tracking system;



Base Station:               ESSC Manila.




*	Education:

Possession of a Masters degree preferably in HR Management

*	Prior Work Experience:

The position requires at least five ( 5 )  years of Human Resource
Management experience.


*	Post Entry Training

Prior work experience in organizational development is an advantage.


*	Language Proficiency

Must be very proficient in reading, writing and speaking the English (level
IV) and Tagalog languages. Preferably conversant in other Philippine


*	Knowledge

The incumbent should be analytical and have practical knowledge in the field
of Human Resources tasks and policy development.


*	Skills and Abilities

        Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with both
supervisor and other staff within the office and in other regional offices.
The incumbent should possess the following skills:

*         Communication - can relate effectively to the supervisor and with

*         Analysis - able to pay attention to discussions; possess foresight
and excellent analytical skills.

*         Flexibility - willing to work on holidays and weekends.
