AAG Store opening
In an effort to provide a venue for Ateneo entrepreneurs to showcase their
merchandise and at the same time become a means of making art accessible
to the community, the Ateneo Art Gallery formally announces the opening
of the AAG Store.
Situated in the ground floor of the Rizal Library Building, the AAG store
offers an exclusive array of museum-quality gift items, showcasing
copyrighted reproductions of art works by international and Philippine
masters from the permanent collection of the Ateneo Art Gallery,
exhibition catalogues and selected publications from the ORP and Lopez
Museum, as well as functional art objects created by selected Ateneo
alumni-entrepreneurs.
Among the collection of items in the AAG store is the unique t-shirts
line. The shirt selection carries numerous designs ranging from a
stylistic printed letter designed by Cherry Pacheco-Uy, reproductions of
50's television icons by Joel de Leon, a reprint of the popular Whitewash
exhibition shirts, and a reproduction of Fernando Zobel's Saeta.
The AAG store is also a venue for bags from C2M2 designed by Christine
King-Aguiluz, which are welcome and colorful additions to the Gallery's
merchandise catalog.
The AAG store is proud to carry an exclusive collection of sterling silver
jewelry created by designer Alexandra Faustmann from Micheli's especially
for the Ateneo Art Gallery. All the pieces include the Gallery's
monogram, configured into a stylish and modern design and incorporated in
the earrings, rings, cuff links, the bangle and pendant which the AAG
Store carries.
The formal opening of the AAG Store this month of November is very timely
for all the shoppers in search for Christmas gift items. It is an
opportunity to purchase unique gifts and at the same time contribute to
the Ateneo community for the funds raised through the AAG Store will
support the exhibition and public programs of the Gallery.
The AAG Store, with its diverse product line, aims to be the beginning of
an ongoing relationship between the AAG and its visitors, expanding the
visibility of artful objects beyond the gallery space.
