SOME of the country's hottest bands are giving education a boost in the
advocacy youth concert "Educ8 to Liber8" on November 19, 7 p.m., at the PTA
Tent (Clamshell 2) in Intramuros, Manila.

Leading the pack of performers is indie-pop band Orange & Lemons, whose
monster hit, "Pinoy Ako," theme of ABS-CBN's top-rating reality series "Pinoy
Big Brother," is currently burning video and radio charts. The band will share
the limelight with other chart-topper 6CycleMind, acoustic hitmaker U-Turn,
and fast-rising bands Blue Ketchup, Protein Shake, Out of the Box, and Milk 'n

Inspired by the international "Live 8 Concert" series, "Educ8 to Liber8" aims
to use the power of music to launch an awareness campaign for the youth on the
state of education in the country today and advocate for their active
participation in the improvement of the education system through eight
concrete action points. The concert is organized by Ateneo's Pathways to
Higher Education as part of the nationwide Pathways Educ8 to Liber8 Movement
that encourages the youth to volunteer in education reform programs.

Educ8 to Liber8 is one of the highlights of Synergeia Foundation's educational
expo Tipanan 2005 which will run at the PTA Tent from November 18-20. For
